My Top Picks; Henley Literary Festival

Tickets are now on sale for Henley Literary Festival, which runs 28th September to 6th October, and I wanted to share my top picks all with living well in mind.

Laura Thomas with Clemmie Telford: Saturday 28th September 6.30pm.

I really enjoyed Laura's book Just Eat It which is focused on helping people build healthy relationships with food. She is thought provoking and refreshing and wants us to take control and live free from restrictive dieting and disordered eating. Mother of All Lists blogger Clemmie will be recording a special "Honestly" podcast with her and I know these two are going to be a combination not to be missed.

Jonathan Hoban Walk With Your Wolf: Sunday 29th September 10am

Something a little different than the usual talks and interviews, this one is an hours walk with psychotherapist Jonathan who wrote Walk With Your Wolf, a part memoir, part life coaching book. Jonathan will explain why he is such an advocate of walking therapy whilst you walk, which I think is a great idea to get us experiencing and feeling the benefits, not just hear about them.

Gut Healthy: Catherine Rogers, Tuesday 1st October, 4pm.

There are many misconceptions on gut health so I am looking forward to a conversation focused on the science behind it all and hopefully a bit of myth busting! As a massive advocate and supporter of every day wellness for everyone, I am looking forward to hearing all about what we can do to support our gut health in simple and accessible ways.

Travel Happy; Dom Joly , Friday 4th October 8.30pm.

This one is surely guaranteed to make you laugh and laughter is seriously great for ones wellbeing. Another thing that is great for your wellbeing is new experiences and Dom's recent walking challenge of the Lebanon Mountain Trail is bound to be engaging, enlightening and inspirational, with his unmistakeable humour thrown in for good measure. Dinner followed by Dom is a Friday night date both Marcus and I are looking forward to.

The Homepage: Pearl Lowe, Molly Mahon & Selina Lake, Saturday 5th October 6.30pm.

Interiors is a bit of a passion of mine so I am super excited for this one on a personal level, my husband less so if it means I buy any more cushions or baskets! Ignoring my personal passions however, according to the recent GoodHome Report our homes account for up to 15% of our overall happiness so any hints and tips we can get on making our home a place of pride, comfort and identity is worth a listen to in my view.

Poorna Bell, Bryony Gordon & Melissa Hemsley, Sunday 6th October 10am

Another one that is guaranteed to have its fair share of humour is this trio. Bryony, Mad Girl Author, set up Mental Health Mates in 2016, a walk and talk support group. It has now grown into a network of peer support groups with walks in over 70 locations globally, including a Reading group which has a walk in Wokingham and Reading each month. She is joined by Mental Health Mates ambassadors Poorna and Melissa for a frank and funny discussion with all proceeds going to Mental Health Mates.

So there you have it my top picks. However there so many talks going on throughout the week, do grab a look at the line up. And it's not just for adults, there is a fabulous children's line up too and lots of creative daily activities in the festival hub.
